Having issues trying to install Infrastructure Parts Editor 2020? It may be because there is leftover information from a previous version in the registry.
Warning: Improperly editing the Windows registry could render your operating system unusable. Use the Microsoft® Registry Editor at your own risk and only after backing up the registry. Microsoft provides critical information about the registry in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/support.
Go to run on your windows start menu and type regedit. This will open your Registry Editor (Fig 1).
By expanding the tree on the left of the Registry Editor navigate to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Infrastructure Parts Editor
Removing the registry key should resolve the issue if the information contained reads as described below in Fig 2.
To remove the registry key, right click the Infrastructure Parts Editor folder and select delete from the menu (Fig 3).
Having completed this operation return to the Autodesk Desktop App and try your installation / update again.
