Occasionally I get asked about displaying a model in a drawing in different ‘positions’. This could be left/right or maybe a scenario of open/closed.
This is quite easy to do in Inventor using the ‘Positional Representations’ in the assembly environment.
Once you have your assembly built and constrained as needed, you can then save various ‘Positional Views’ under the Representations in the Assembly Browser.
Each Positional Representation can then have ‘Overridden’ constraints to move the model as required.
Use these saved Representations when placing views on your drawings.
Really easy… Remember that you can also use these different Positional Representations as ‘Overlays’ if you want to.
