Following on from my previous blog “Table” #1- Adding “Rows”, adding “Columns” to a “Table” works in the same way.
As in the previous blog select a “Cell”, as shown in Figure 1.
“Right mouse” click to display the menu, select “Columns” and select the required option “Insert Left” or “Insert Right”, as shown in Figure 2.
The “Column” to be added to the “Table” in this example will be to the right of the selected “Cell”, as shown in Figure 3.
Note: - The “Column” created is the same size as the “Cell” which was originally selected, also the “Cell” “C1” is not “Merged” to the “Title Cell” and must be “Merged” separately.
Changing the width of the “Column” can be accomplished in a couple of ways. If the width of the “Column” doesn’t have to be to a specific dimension, the “Cell” can be changed by selecting the “Grip”, making it active, then picking a second point to increase or decrease the size of the “Column”.
As an alternative if the width of the “Cell” is to be specific, the required “Cell Width” can be entered via the “Properties” dialogue box, as shown in Figure 4.
“Double Left” click in each “Cell” to add textural information, as shown in Figure 5.
Note: - If the content that is added to the “Cell” is not of the same format of which the “Cell” was created a “Warning Dialogue” box is shown in in Figure 6.
Select the option that is most suitable for the situation.
