If you have routed, calculated and saved your Cymap system – you can import this straight into Revit through an API called Cylink as you may already know.
However, if the pipe type isn’t located in the Cylink standard template which we provide, then as you’ll see the user will be automatically given another row directly below the system with the non-linked system.
What may not have been apparent to the user initially was the ability to change the system type upon loading the system into Revit from a .CYC file.
This is due to the user creating the pipe within the Cymap database.
As you can see on the above screen shot, we have a Cymap created pipe type that isn’t located within the Cylink template. You will now notice that on the row directly beneath it has all the loaded families and by choosing one the user will manually map to a loaded Cylink template family and then the Cylink API can start doing its job of creating all the services within the Revit environment automatically.
