We have already created a number of blogs relating to Mapping HealthCare data and accessing COVID-19 datasets in QGIS using the ESRI Living Atlas, so these are a great starting point for this topic:
- QGIS – Viewing COVID-19 Data - https://www.cadlinecommunity.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360009767777-QGIS-Viewing-COVID-19-Data
- Open Source GIS – Mapping HealthCare Data - https://www.cadlinecommunity.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360007617137-Open-Source-GIS-Mapping-Health-Care-Data
This final Blog – Mapping COVID-19 – seeks to give you a summary of how I managed to create the MapThat – COVID19 Web Project
- Starting with sourcing and downloading COVID-19 datasets
- Through to visualising this data in QGIS and uploading to a PostGIS database
- And finally how I then used GeoServer to publish the COVID-19 datasets as WMS Layers to be viewed in our Web Mapping Application – MapThat.
(A word of thanks to the YouTube Channel - AMDGS – as we use a number of the links to COVID-19 related datasets from their videos.)
