As per the new requirements of Regulation 421.1.7, AFDDs shall be provided for single phase circuits supplying socket outlets with a rated current not exceeding 32A.
This new requirement applies to four specific types of location:
- Higher Risk Residential Buildings (HRRB)
- Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO)
- Purpose-built student accommodation
- Care homes.
Consideration should also be given to the provision of AFDDs conforming to BS EN 62606, for all other premises, for single-phase AC final circuits supplying socket-outlets not exceeding 32 A.
To ensure these new requirements are met, in the Way Entry dialog, these four location types can be selected in the Medical or other Locations drop-down list.
When one of these locations has been selected, the program checks will look for an AFDD on the circuit and advise if this requirement has not been fulfilled.
