The latest versions of each of the manufacturers Circuit Protective Device databases (CPD DBs) have been updated with additional detail and data. Previously, the titles of the latest versions of the CPD DBs ended with ‘18th’. The titles of the new updated CPD DBs now end with ‘18_2’. (Just think of 18th Edition Amendment 2.)
For example, the default Schneider CPD DB used to be Schneider Electric UK 2021_18th.DBZ. This has been updated to Schneider Electric UK 2021_18_2.DBZ.
An exception to the ‘18_2’ naming convention is the 18thEditionCPD.DBZ. If there are particular types of breakers or fuses needed for your Wiring project but you don’t have the manufacturer’s data, this CPD DB contains a variety of Generic breakers and gPV fuses that you can easily import into your Wiring project’s CPD DB.
Updates to the ‘18_2’ CPD DBs include:
- The former Generic AFDDs have been replaced with AFDD-MCBs and AFDD-RCBOs.
The AFDD-RCBOs have the improved ‘Type A’ RCD trip units, instead of the simple ‘Type AC’ trip units.
- The Generic breakers listed below are now included in all the ‘18_2’ CPD DBs.
AFDD-RCBO - Type B, C & D
AFDD-MCB - Type B, C & D
MCB - Type B, C & D
RCBO - Type B, C & D
RCD - Type AC, A F, B & Si - Temperature Derating data (Derate) added to the above entries for Generic Fuses, AFDDs, MCBs and RCBOs
