Databases are continually being revised, updated or superseded by newer versions. This can sometimes make it daunting or confusing when trying to locate the latest version of a particular database for your Building, Wiring or Lighting project.
To make it easier to locate and select the latest versions of both the Mechanical & Electrical databases, a new Legacy sub-folder structure has been introduced.
For example, here are the contents of the DB\Building folder.
This new top-level database folder now contains only the latest current databases for the Building program.
You can see there is also a Legacy sub-folder. This is where the older previous versions of Building databases are now stored.
This method has not just been applied to the Mechanical databases but also the Electrical databases.
For example, this is the new top-level DB\CPD folder…..
….while this is the contents of the new DB\CPD\Legacy sub-folder.
As can be seen in the images above, this approach has been applied to all of the database folders. The result is that the top-level database folders are now much easier to navigate, while the older databases are still available and can be called up for legacy CYC projects.
Please note: When opening an archived Building CYC, or Wiring CYW project, the program will automatically search in both the top-level & legacy folders for the databases used by that project.
