When using the New Project Wizard to create a fresh MEPworx Building CYC project, you can now fire up context appropriate Help for each step of the Wizard from the F1 key.
As you progress through the different steps of the wizard, at the bottom of each page, is an active Next link to enable you to skip ahead to successive pages.
When you come to the ‘Select Weather Data Source’ stage of the wizard, due to the addition of the Energy Plus Weather (EPW) data facility, there is new guidance on how to select the weather data files for your project.
You can either use the default MEPworx Weather database, where you can select from many global countries and cities….
…..or you can select the EPW/DDY option which will give you access to a far greater number of detailed global weather maps and locations.
When the EPW/DDY option is selected, in the dialog above yu can Choose from the displayed live maps, then select & download either National Renewal Energy Laboratory EPW (NREL/EPW) data files…
…or select & download One Building regional geo-database files, from the KLM catalogues which are stored locally in the DB\Weather folder,
(The default region is, Region6_Europe_EPW_Processing_locations)
When you have downloaded the EPW data for the location of your project, you can then Browse to and select the EPW data file.
The Location's information fields will then be populated with the data from your selected data source.
Additionally, EPW data files can also be pre-downloaded in preparation for your project from the MEPworx front screen, in the Mechanical - Databases section.
Please note: The EPW Chooser application cannot be used without an active Internet connection.
This is because it uses Web-Based Map Control and the catalogue, plus the files, are all on the Web.
Hence without an Internet connection, the program will not start-up or run.
