In this ‘How To’ tutorial, we will learn how to Edit Street Geometry in the DynamicMaps Address & Street Management Application.
Having searched for, and found, the Street record you wish to edit, choose the edit pencil to open the Street record edit page.
Move Street
Any new Street record will be created using the default Start and End X&Y values, which in this case have drawn the Street geometry at the Councils Main offices.
To Reshape the Street, in the top left corner of the map choose the edit (pencil) icon.
The map will reload and this time the Drawing Tools will be available in the map.
Choose the Drawing Tools menu and the current Street record will be loaded into the Drawing Tools.
Select the Move button from the Drawing Tools menu.
Left click on the Street record and you can drag the line to a new location.
Having moved the Street record, choose the Save button to commit the changes to the system.
Reshape Street
Having moved the Street record, you may now wish to reshape the Street to follow the street as shown in the basemapping.
Select the Reshape button from the Drawing Tools menu.
Left click on the Street record and you you can stretch/move any existing vertex to a new location...
… and/or add additional vertices onto the line to reshape it as required.
Having reshaped the Street record, choose the Save button to commit the changes to the system.
Redraw Street
If required, and if easier, you can redraw the Street record.
Note – we recommend you to Move the existing Street record to a new location so that it doesn’t hinder the drawing process.
Select the Draw Line tool from the Drawing Tools menu.
Left click in the map at each location that you wish to draw the line.
Having now redrawn the Street record, choose the Save button to commit the changes to the system.
