MapThat v6.2.2 onwards now has an update to allow you to Link Layers together!
For example, by linking the Ward Labels with the Ward Boundaries layer, the user simply needs to tick the Master (Wards) layer to show the labels at the same time.
The user can choose to untick the Labels layer to then just show the spatial data…
While you can display multiple layers at the same time by grouping them into the same Layer Header (Tree), using the tick box to display all the layers.
If you don’t want to expose the tick box for ALL the Layers in the Tree e.g. Education below,…. now we can link the Master Liverpool Schools layer with the Labels and the Catchments. This means that by ticking just one ‘Master’ layer you can show 2 or more layers as needed which could be linked to that layer.
It also means that you now don’t need to list all your layers in the Show Layers panel. For example, below, we have linked the Liverpool Lighting Streetview Points layer to a Labels layer (which uses a GeoServer WMS to label the lights),.. but in this case the Linked WMS Layer can be set to Not Show in Tree – which means it will be shown in the map, when the ‘Master’ layer is ticked, but it doesn’t need to be listed in the Show Layers panel.
This allows you to list less layers, to declutter your map,.. but also, to display multiple layers more quickly!
