In Revit a common question that is frequently asked by customers is how to re-align the Model Hatch patterns used to represent the position of Brick Courses etc. There are in fact two ways to achieve this.
The first option is to use the Align command. Position the window at the correct position within the model. Then use the Align command to select the bottom edge of the window component family and then the reference of the fill pattern.
The pattern will then adjust to suit. Perform a similar series of steps to the left or right hand side of the opening to adjust the position of the brick or blockwork. The results should display as the image below.
The second method involves using Revit’s magic ‘TAB’ selection key. Simply postion the cursor over a coursing line and press ‘Tab’. The line will be selected and offer a listening dimension which can then be adjusted to the coursing offset or another desired value. If a dimension doesn’t display due to the view being cropped place a permenant dimension and adjust the value as desired.
It should be noted that for visualisation presentation views textures may not display the same as the hidden line visual style. This process will be covered in a separate post.
