Question:
Why is my Historic Mapping being offset when shown in MapThat?
Answer:
The likely reason is that the URL being used does not contain the full information to render the WMS in the correct location.
For example the following shortened URL will display in MapThat:
….however it may render slightly offset from its true location.
Instead in your MapThat layer settings you will need to use the full URL copied from Open Layers:
Then replace the format=application/openlayers …. with format=image/png
Also to get the correct name of the WMS, change the name between &layers=………… and ……..&box by copying the name of the WMS from the LAYERS page in GeoServer.
The Mosaic WMS of Historic Mapping will now render in the correct location within MapThat with no offset/shift issue.
