How do you export Labels from a QGIS Layer into AutoCAD?
Answer:
GIS Layers can be exported from QGIS as .DXF files and then opened into CAD.
However, to successfully export the Labels for a GIS file, you need to do the export from the PROJECTS menu in QGIS. Follow the steps below to successfully export Labels into CAD.
1 – Open your GIS Layer into QGIS and apply the Labels that you require. For example here we have the County Name showing for the County Layer in QGIS.
2 – From the Project Menu choose > Import / Export > Export Project to DXF….
In the Export as DXF options, choose SAVE AS and save the QGIS Project as a .DXF file with a relevant name.
Leave the other settings as default, although you may wish to tick to force 2D output.
Then press OK and the .DFX file will be generated.
3 – Once you have exported the QGIS Project as a .DXF, open AutoCAD and simply choose to Add the .DXF file into your Drawing.
Once added the .DXF layer shows the Counties Geometry and the Labels that were displayed within QGIS.
