Question:
I need to annotate a model revision with a revisions tag, does Revit have one in its default library?
Answer:
Yes, a revisions tag is a standard component family type. An example is provided with the standard library.
If not pre-loaded within the company template, execute the load family dialogue via INSERT>LOAD FAMILY or similar.
Browse to the default folder location, typically located on a local drive with a folder structure like:
Local drive \program data\autodesk\Revit 20XX\Libraries\REGION\Annotations\Tags
Fig. Unless specified, standard Revit libraries tend to be installed on local drives
NB; Many companies deploy their standard libraries onto a server for ease of maintenance and control.
Within the Tags directory locate ‘Anno_Tag_Revs.RFA’ and load into the project.
Create a revision within the revision manager, set type, numbering options etc. and mark up the changed area with the Revision Cloud tool. Ensure that the correct Revision reference is set to the cloud.
Tag the cloud on the relevant view or sheet and the appropriate revision symbol will appear.
