Question:
What Search options are there when using the DynamicMaps Rapid Address Finder?
Answer:
Using the Rapid Address Finder users have the following search options:
- Building Name/No.
- Street
- Post Code
- Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN)
1 - Building Name/No.
Type the Building Name or Number that you wish to search for into the Building Name/No. window for example the number 20….
Note - this search option will only work if you add a second search option such as Street or Postcode. Having added the secondary search option e.g. Street Name – Church Rise… press the Search button.
Once the search runs, the results window is populated with Addresses that match the search options, with a count showing in this case there are 9 properties. We can see that each Address record has the value of 20 and Church Rise in their address details.
2 - Street
Press the CLEAR button to clear both the results and the search options.
This time we will simply search using a Street Name value, to find all Address records on that Street. Here we have searched for Church Rise… having pressed the search button this time we get a list of all Addresses where the street name is Church Rise, including all houses and flats.
Note - the default search option for the Rapid Address Finder is set to EITHER,…. and this option will firstly look for addresses in your LLPG before searching for records in the NLPG. In this instance as it successfully found addresses in the LLPG, the results window shows the actual address records for the chosen street in your LLPG.
If we change the search option to be National…
… and re-run the Street search, this time the search lists all the unique locations that include the Street name Church Rise…
Simply select the location you are interested in e.g. Holtby York and press Select Street…the results window updates to then list the Address records on the chosen Street for that national location.
3 - Postcode
Press the CLEAR button to clear both the results and the search options.
This time we will simply search using a Postcode value, to find all Address records with the same Postcode. Here we have searched for SE23 2UD…
Having pressed the Search button…the results window updates to then list the Address records that share the same postcode value.
4 – UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number)
Press the CLEAR button to clear both the results and the search options.
Finally, we will search using the Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) to find an individual Address record. From the search page click the Find by UPRN button.
Type your UPRN value into the window and press the search button to run the query.
The Rapid Address Finder will then auto open the full Address details page for the chosen Address record, and to the right a map window will show the Address location using Ordnance Survey basemapping.
The DynamicMaps Rapid Address Finder, therefore, provides you with an intuitive yet high powered Address Finder tool, which allows you to search for Address records using a combination of search options, including House Name//Number, Street, Postcode and UPRN value. Once the Address record is found the Full Details page then provides you with additional address information as well as a map view that can be shared with others. The Rapid Address Finder is therefore perfect to integrate with your internal CRMs, Support Desk, Street Service applications, as well as public facing web pages,… as it allows you to easily generate address lookups to populate address lists for all your applications and web services.
