AutoCAD® Electrical has a built in Promis.E/RS-Wire converter. This will convert an intelligent PromisE/RS-Wire project into an intelligent AutoCAD® Electrical project. The conversion can be done by project dependent upon PromisE/RS-Wire version up to V5 by multiple drawings, or by individual drawings from Aero upwards. Bentley v8i can also be translated, but please contact customer.services@cadline.co.uk if this is a requirement.
PromisE/RS-Wire does not have to be installed on your computer or indeed network. However, the data structure must remain intact if you are to convert whole projects and should not be in the PromisE/RS-Wire zip format.
The key to the translation is ensuring that your AutoCAD® Electrical project settings match the PromisE/RS-Wire formatting to ensure that new components & new wires follow the existing methodology. In addition, any existing cross-referencing methods must be adopted within AutoCAD® Electrical to maintain the same formatting. With the Cadline Localiser, cross reference information can be maintained, parts & translation databases converted, and individual or whole library symbol sets can be converted to AutoCAD® Electrical intelligent symbols.
