The mirror command is a useful command to enable you to produce handed copies of objects, such as a handed door, office layout or component part.
AutoCAD is flexible and will permit the mirroring of any objects including text. However, on some drawings you may find the text mirrors to wrong reading, but not on other drawings.
This text mirroring function is useful for the creation of signage, or other graphical purposes, but not for most technical drawings of buildings and components.
Whether this happens or not is controlled by an AutoCAD system variable that is saved in the drawing.
Typing in MIRRTEXT will return a value. A value of Zero means that mirrored text will remain right reading. Whereas a value of one will mirror the text.
I recommend setting this value along with other system variables, layers, annotation styles, units and title sheets etc. and store them in a centrally shared AutoCAD template.
