Text can be imported directly from a “Word” document into AutoCAD, once in the AutoCAD drawing file the text from the “Word” doc is converted to “Multiline” Text.
With both the drawing file and a word document open.
In the “Document”, drag the cursor over the required text so it becomes highlighted, as shown in Figure 1.
Either press “CTRL+C” or right click and from the displayed menu, select “Copy”, both options will copy the selected text to the “Clipboard”.
Back in the AutoCAD file, using “Mtext” pick the two corners that define the “Mtext” area, either press “CTRL+X” or right click and from the menu, select “Paste”, this will bring the previously selected data from the “Clipboard” into the drawing, as shown in Figure 2.
The Imported text can now be edited as if it was added using the AutoCAD “Mtext” command.
