Autodesk Vault 2025 is finally here! This release brings enhancements for both administrators and users, including community requests. Release notes are available here, but I will cover the key features below.
Password policy – as requested by the Vault community, administrators can now configure and enforce a password policy. As collaboration using Vault and the Thin Client is increasing, so does the need for better control over accounts for 3rd parties given access to Vault.
Email notifications on state change – another valuable addition is the ability to configure and send email notifications for any lifecycle state change. Email notifications were previously only available for ECOs – administrators can now define multiple templates to include relevant properties and choose what groups/users will be notified when a specific lifecycle transition occurs.
Purge enhancements:
Purge folders – users with the Administrator or Project Administrator role can now use the purge command on any Vault folder to remove unwanted version for files it contains.
Purge on state change – the “Actions” list on a lifecycle transition now has a “Purge” option. This is available on any file, folder or item lifecycle.
Basic Search Criteria – users can now leverage criteria sets built using the Find command in basic searches.
In addition, Vault Basic users now get the same Copy Design interface and functionality as Vault Professional users.
The Thin Client also has a few new settings:
- Hide/unhide any workspace.
- Choose the default workspace landing page.
- Change the logo from the Autodesk Vault default
