In the new 2021 release of Revit 2021, Autodesk announced several enhancements for electrical functionality. Here are a few of the highlights, focusing on three themes: Globalisation, Distribution System Logic and Ease of Use.
- Globalisation refers to the ability for Revit electrical workflows to be easily adapted around the globe. There are certain aspects of Revit that were developed and coded in a very US-focused way. For this release, we have started to generalise and expand that functionality.
- Distribution System Logic refers to fundamental concepts and principles in Revit that pertain to the electrical domain. An example of an improvement to distribution system logic in the 2020 release was the incorporation of feed through lugs. This logic is what allows Revit to properly physically and analytically represent an electrical system.
- Ease of Use includes improvements that we hope benefit your day-to-day interaction with the software.
