Start a new project using the default Architectural Template and open the Site Plan view from the project browser. Use the Link CAD command to insert a site survey (dwg file).
In this example, we have a site survey that was created in AutoCAD.
Since shared positioning has not been set up, the site is inserted with the Origin-to-Origin option. To establish a shared coordinate system between the survey dwg and the Revit project – acquire the coordinates of the dwg file.
Before Acquiring Coordinates
The CAD coordinate placed in AutoCAD does not match the Spot coordinate placed in Revit.
After Acquiring Coordinates
The Revit Spot Coordinate updates showing that a shared coordinate system between the survey dwg and the Revit Project has been established.
