On a recent training course, a user wasn’t aware that you can add additional materials to a project. If you are relatively new to the application, it may not be obvious that you can access new material content. This is because Autodesk preloads a few of the material, then stores the other materials in an Asset Browser library.
Solution:
- Click the Manage tab on the Revit ribbon.
-
From Settings pallet, click Materials.
- Click on the ball with a plus sign and select Create New Material.
- Select the Asset Browser button which can be found to the lower left of the material dialog box.
-
Double click Autodesk Physical Assets.
-
Click on a material (example-Ceramic).
-
The material will appear to the right.
-
Double click on the material that you would like. It will appear in the new material that you made.
