A few versions ago, Revit allowed users to show reference elements in 3D views. This can be observed when starting a new model from a standard template, where level datum lines can be seen for the positioning slabs and the control of wall and column extents.
For structural elements like columns, beams and foundations, grid lines are equally important, however they do not display automatically in 3D views with the default out-of-the-box templates. However, since Revit 2022 this has changed, and they can be shown and adjusted along with their annotation to suit.
To enable grid display in the 3D view, access the instance section of the properties palette and click on the Edit button on the show grids panel. Select which level(s) that need to be displayed and click OK.
The selected grids will then be displayed, and annotation toggled on or off as required for clarity.
