When building assemblies, the need for the constraints dialogue to be loaded can be intrusive to the graphic window and can sometimes be over the work you need to select.
A quick tip is to use a keyboard shortcut to add a mate or insert constraint rather than load the constraint dialogue.
- Hold down the ALT key and hover over the first face or edge you want to add the constraint.
- Select the edge or face with a left mouse click but keep the button selected. The selected edge or face will be highlighted.
- With the left mouse button still selected move to the second face or edge, once the required selection is highlighted release the mouse button. The constraint will be added.
- When placing a mate face constraint, releasing the ALT key and pressing the spacebar can be used to cycle between a Mate or Flush type.
