In the previous blog, the area covered by the “Mask” was changed via the “Background Mask” dialogue. This method does give some limitations to the size of the masked area.
Note: - The justification of the “Multi-line Text” has been set to “Middle Centre”, and therefore the text is located centrally within the defined “Mtext” window.
If the “Multi Line” text object is selected with a single click, the object “Grips” are displayed as shown in Figure 1.
Selecting the down arrow and dragging the arrow down the screen will increase the height of the text window equally, above and below the displayed text, as shown in Figure 2.
The “Mask” now takes on the parameters of the “Text Box”.
Selecting and dragging the triangular “Grip” on the right of the “Multi-Line Text” object, will give a similar result, but this controls the width of the text box, which again in turn controls the “Mask”, as shown in Figure 3.
This gives the user should it be required, more control over the size of the “Mask”.
