There was a forum post by one of our Cadline Community members asking if it was possible to add colour overrides to iParts, which got me thinking...
The request in itself is pretty much impossible, you can change the material of a part in the iPart Environment, but it is not possible (as far as I can fathom) to change the colour override, so for instance you may want a stainless steel part, but for it to be red. As I'm sure regular blog readers will know, I have developed a love for iLogic and solving Inventor problems using it. I have posted a video, showing how you can link a parameter to a colour with iLogic, and then in-turn use this parameter in the iPart to control the specific configuration colour. Video below:
