A common question I often receive from customers is whether Revit LT has any building service or MEP capabilities.
Unfortunately the answer is a resounding no! Although Revit LT does have some electrical and pumping fixtures, there are no dedicated tools to create elements like ductwork, cabletray or piping. It also lacks API support meaning that many useful Revit add-ins will not work with the LT platform. In addition even with the current version LT 2023, the software lacks view filters, PDF referencing and other key collaboration tools which can be vital when working with other disciplines.
For the creation of Pipework, HVAC and Electrical Systems, more functionality can be found with Revit LT’s full product cousin, Revit, possibly with some additional companion products like Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant or MEPWorx. The full Revit product also benefits from a wide range of add-on tools to integrate with Excel, databases and Cobie schemas.
