Joining Footings:
If you have ever come across this REVIT problem, it can be very frustrating.
You cannot get the footing corners to mitre or join properly!
This problem is caused when the footing Type Property "Structural Usage" is set to "Retaining" instead of "Bearing".
Change it to "Bearing" and problem solved.
Disallowing Wall Joins
By default, Revit creates a join where 2 walls intersect. However, you can prevent joins for a selected wall whenever necessary.
To prevent a join on a wall end
- Select the wall.
- Right-click the wall end control where you want to disallow the join.
- Click Disallow Join from the shortcut menu
An icon will show which walls have been stopped from joining.
To change the join type of walls in Revit, follow these steps:
- Select the Walls: Click on the walls you want to modify.
- Modify Tab: Go to the “Modify” tab on the ribbon.
- Wall Joins Tool: Click on the “Wall Joins” tool.
- Choose Join Type: In the options bar, you can select the join type you want (e.g., Butt, Mitre, or Square Off).
- Apply: Click on the join to apply the selected type.
