Fan-In / Out is a description given to where multiple cores or wires converge into one line representing multiple. It is often drawn in this manner when drawing space is at a premium. Moreover it’s a common practice within certain industries such as the AV (audio visual). The following video shows you how fan-in / out works along with how multi-core cables can be assigned whether the fan-in / out is drawn on a single drawing or across multiple drawings.
