Revit’s wall sweep tool is very useful for interior features like skirting, picture rails and coving. However, many users are not aware that the wall sweep tool can turn corners and finish off details like an uncased opening or a around a wall pier.
To get the sweep to turn into an opening, simply click on the modify returns toggle.
The geometry will start to turn a corner and will offer a control point that can be pulled to the face of a door frame, or a reference point of the far side of the wall.
NB. If the modify turns function doesn’t work, make sure that the cut by inserts function is disabled. This option can be toggled within the Sweep’s family type properties.
TIP: If there are unsightly join lines where two sweeps meet, use the join geometry function to clean any coincident edges.
