Managing Project Browser View Organisation
Keeping the different views in the Project Browser organised is very important as it is fundamental in how you work. One way to help with this is by adding a numbering system at the front of each view name like, 00, 01, 02, etc.
When applying a numbering system make sure that the ground level is first. One thing to keep in mind if using a numbering system is that the ground floor in America is referenced as First Floor (this would start with 01), and in Europe it is referred to as Ground Floor (this would start with 00). The other views’ numbering follow in ascending order.
The Site Plan view can be left as it is, but if you plan on renaming it remember that it is at the ground floor level and should have something extra to help identify it apart from the other views.
Using Parameters and Filters for Browser Organisation
Another way to help organise the Project Browser is by setting some parameters and filters.
By adding different types of parameters to the views you can create new view categories, like WIP (Work in Progress) or Published. This way you can keep track of what views you have finished and what ones still need some work to be done.
Ribbon: Manage Tab> Settings Panel> Project Parameters.
When creating the new parameters for the views, make sure that you have set the Type Parameters to text and selected Views from the Category list.
Parameter Properties
To apply the new parameters to the views go to the Project Browser and right-click on Views and choose Browser Organisation. From there create a new view option, go to Sorting/Grouping and put in the new parameters. Once done make sure you select the new view option and hit OK.
