Beyond the Basics – “Copy” # 3C “Mode”
One final option within the “Copy” command is “Mode”, as shown in Figure 1.

Again, as with all AutoCAD sub commands, it can be accessed by all the following methods, selection from the “Command Line”, typing “O” and pressing enter.
Note: - The key-in letter is always the capital displayed in the subcommand in the command line, or selection from the right click menu, as shown in Figure 2.

Once the objects have been selected and the selection set confirmed by pressing enter, the “Mode” option is available, selecting “Mode” will give two options, “Single” and “Multiple” which again may be selected from either the command line or the right click menu, as shown in Figure 3.

The default, “Multiple” option will allow as many copies as required and cancelled using any of the standard command cancelling methods.
The “Single” option will create one “Copy” and will automatically cancel the command.
Note: - Once the “Single” option has been used, it is set to the PC / laptop, so when the “Copy” command is used again the “Single” option is still set.
This option can be reset by using the system variable “Copymode”, again is a one-word type in function.
The default value is “0” which will automatically repeat copies.
Setting the value to “1” will only create a single copy.
