So following on from my previous blog, the next part of the process is to open the Revit file that contains a Site Designer imported surface using Navisworks and to check that it still has the same coordinates system.
In Revit you can save it as a RVT file or export it to FBX or NWC as Navisworks will accept any of these formats.
Launch Navisworks and open the selected file.
The file is displayed as follows. To check the coordinates, select the view tab and choose the HUD button. Then pick the XYZ Axes and the Position Readout and the coordinates are displayed.
Pick the steering wheel in the Navigation Bar
If you choose the Center option and move the pivot point, it location is reported in the coordinates display.
