In this Blog I will show you how to quickly create specific 3D section views in Revit 2016/2017.
Section Views in 2D and 3D
Creating these views is very easy, and only takes a few moments to select and tweak them in a view.
Starting with the 2D view, just window around the parts of the model to generate the section box from.
Whilst in your 2D view, window around the area (highlighting as below) you want your 3D section box to project. Go to view panel and select Section Box (highlighted in yellow below).
The following is a 3D view of our selected area.
After that, we can fine-tune the extents of the section with the grips tool.Using this tool can often help people better understand design iterations and the relationship of the parts of the building model.
