Autodesk recently released Revit 2024 which has many new features over previous versions. One such feature was the addition of a Dark Mode, a feature which has been in AutoCAD for several years. The dark mode environment can be beneficial to users who suffer from screen glare issues when working with software for prolonged periods of time.
True dark mode for Revit is only available from the 2024 version onwards, however, a close approximation can be achieved with legacy Revit and Revit LT products. Indeed, this tip will work with any software which lacks a dark mode user configuration. This method can be achieved with the Windows Magnify app.
In Windows Magnify, click on settings and enable ‘Invert Colours’.
This will set a crude dark mode for Revit/LT reducing eye strain for users.
This mode can be toggled via settings using the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘+’ key and may well serve users’ needs until they are ready to make the jump to the 2024 version.
