Those using Vault to manage the release of Inventor files know well the importance of revision write-back to drawing border properties, however this may not seem as simple when trying to apply the same control for AutoCAD files.
In the following steps I hope to take out some of the `mystery’ of applied the same Vault revision property used for the Inventor files to control the relevant revision attribute contained within an AutoCAD file.Access ADMS on the Vault server, map the block containing the attribute via Tools > Index Block Attributes (also refer to image in Item-2):
- With reference to the sample file below, notice the block `ISO_TITLEA’ with Revision attribute value as `A’:
- Check file into Vault.
- Create a user-defined property mapped to the attribute `Revision’ value:
