Autoloader is a great tool for uploading large batches of files to a Vault. This process includes a scan of the selected data and a validation step.
Errors can occur during scan or validation – sometimes the errors given by the Autoloader don’t provide enough information to help identify the root cause. Most common example is the “Could not validate files” error – more on this here.
Verbose logging can be enabled for Autoloader by adding a registry key. Before making any edits, please export a registry backup file.
To create this detailed log file:
- On the Start menu (Windows), click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, enter REGEDIT
- In the Registry Editor, locate the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk
- If this key does not exist, create a new key called Autoloader
- Under Autoloader, create a new key called Current Version
- Create a new DWORD valuenamed LogLevel and set its value to 2
When you run the Autoloader, a log file named AutoloaderTrace<date>.log will be created in the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local Settings\Temp folder. The contents of this log can provide more details on why the upload fails.
