I often get this question from users who have difficulty locating their serial number of their product. This reference, along with the product key and license type, can be accessed from the About AutoCAD command located in the top right hand corner of the screen on a drop down menu.
On the about screen, choose ‘manage license’ and then select the chevron icon marked to access the license information. Although the screen shot shown relates to AutoCAD, it is a similar process for other products like AutoCAD LT, Revit and 3ds Max.
