Recently I wrote a post on how, when creating handed versions of entities in AutoCAD especially blocks containing textual information, this can be accommodated using attributes, the process which can be found here:
However, another possibility is to consider making the blocks dynamically flip-able. This can be done within AutoCAD’s Block Editor, adding a flip axis parameter and a flip action to the graphical element but omitting selecting the text/attribute entities.
The flip states can be named as appropriate, in the example above as Handed or Not Handed house types. The flip state can also be read from AutoCAD’s data extraction tool.
Click on the Flip Action to obtain handed versions of noted blocks. The attribute data can be extracted to an AutoCAD table or a MS Excel spreadsheet as desired.
