Did You Know?
Using RevitSHARE you can undertake Version Control on your Revit files in your SharePoint repository.
How?
RevitSHARE is a plugin tool for Revit and allows you to store, retrieve, update and manage all your organisations Revit Files in your SharePoint repository.
If you have already opened a Revit file into Revit, you can use the RevitSHARE Versions tool to view the list of previous versions for that RVT file.
The Versions button will open the Versions form, which will then present a list of all the versions associated to your Revit file that have been Checked In to SharePoint previously. Each time you check in a new version the numbering, shown on the left, will incrementally change by 1 whole value.
Older versions will be shown in black text, and the current version will be shown in blue.
Note - the version number, a date, who Checked In that version and any comments when the file was Checked In are stored and can then be viewed on the Versions form.
OPEN - You can select any previous version of your Revit file from the list of Versions and then choose Open. This will open that version of the Revit file.
DELETE - You can also select any previous version of your Revit file from the list of Versions and then choose Delete. This will then delete that version of the Revit file.
Note – you cannot delete the current version!
DELETE ALL - If you choose the Delete All option, this will delete all previous versions of the Revit file.
RESTORE SELECTED - You can select any previous version of a Revit file from the list and by choosing the Restore Selected to Current box, you will make that version the new current version. The previous current version will then be saved as an older version.
