You can import an AutoCAD dwg file into Revit in order to trace walls etc. The quickest way to do this is to select the wall type and then use the pick lines tool to place the walls on the underlying CAD file. This can be difficult if you can’t see the wall edges in the CAD import (see below).

Select the imported CAD file and then right click. In the right click menu, select Override Graphics in View and alter the transparency with the slide bar. The wall edges become visible and easy to pick to place your walls in Revit Architecture (see below).
