Revit 2024.1 brings many improvements for working with structural models. These include improved Rebar annotation and detailing controls and the inclusion of standard editing functions on Revit’s Analytical model elements.
Rebar annotations can now be placed much more quickly with the tag orientated parallel to the dimension line and at a specified offset.
To ensure the tag is placed parallel, ensure that the pick position toggle is switched off. By clicking the rebar elements and setting the position, annotations can be placed in 2 mouse clicks.
The multi-rebar tag is a system family but can be easily edited by editing its type and choosing a different nested tag family. There are also options to show how the rebar dimensions are displayed, if at all.
Another improvement to Revit’s structural suite is improved Rebar editing tools.
When rebar is added, there is almost always a need to adjust the placement of rebar to suit specific circumstances and avoid clashing rebar etc. This task is made much easier with the ability to edit rebar segment lengths directly on ‘canvas’ either in 2D or 3D views. The displayed segment lengths display according to the rules of individual rebar shape definitions and lengths are rounded according to reinforcement rounding project settings.
As well as the improvements to Concrete reinforcement Revit’s update has includes some improvements to the modification tools available for Revit’s Analytical Model elements.
Users now can Trim and Extend Analytical lines to boundaries, like other Revit line-based features. Or alternatively, the split command can be used if both halves of an element are required. Structural loads and attributes are preserved after trimming, extending, or splitting analytical members.
