A previous blog showed changing the display of the 3D curved solid objects using the “Isolines” system variable. https://www.cadlinecommunity.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/360017644697-AutoCAD-Controlling-the-Appearance-of-3D-Solids-1
An additional method of controlling the display of 3D curved solids is to use the “Dispsilh” system variable, this controls the display of the silhouette edges of the curved solid.
The default value for “Dispsilh” is set to “0” so the silhouette edges are not shown as per the left view in Figure 1, setting the value to “1” will display the silhouette edges as per the right view in Figure 1.
Figure 1.
As with the “Isolines” system variable, a “Regen” must be performed to show the change to the display.
Note:- Displayed silhouette edges will also appear on the plot when printing the displayed model in “2D Wireframe”, “Shaded with Edges”, “Wireframe” and “X-ray” visual styles .
