Continuing with the series of blogs relating to the “Count” command.
Using the “Count” command, “Blocks” can also be identified or filtered by “Scale and Mirrored” states. The process is basically the same as filtering “Blocks” by “Layer”, as per a previous blog, to view that blog follow the link below.
At a quick glance at the drawing in Figure 1, all the internal doors appear to be the same size.
Using the “Count” command, the “Count” pallet returns a “Count” of 5, which is correct, as shown in Figure 2.
To enable the display of “Scale” and “Mirrored” states of the “Blocks” in the “Count” pallet, right click on the “Block” name to display the expanded menu, as shown in Figure 3.
Currently, there is no way to expand all the “Blocks” listed in the “Pallet” at the same time.
Select “Scale” and “Mirror State”, so both options are now checked, as shown in Figure 4.
Note: - A “+” symbol has appeared to the left of the highlighted “Block” in the “Count” pallet.
Selecting the “+” symbol will expand the list of “Blocks” of that type, as shown in Figure 5.
Figure 6 shows an enlarged view of the expanded “Block” list, displaying the “Scale” of each “Block”, in relation to the original which has a “Scale” of 1. It also indicates if the “Block” has been “Mirrored”, the word “Default” indicates the block has not been “Mirrored”.
As with the previous blog on “Count” filtering the “Blocks” by “Layer”, the “Layer” filter could also be added to the expanded list, as shown in Figure 7.
This function could also be used to check the “Blocks” in the drawing are on the correct “Layer”, as indicated in the above image, two of the internal doors have been inserted on the “Layer”, Doors External, - instead of the Doors Internal, so this would need correcting.
To display the location of the “Blocks”, select the “Block” in the expanded list in the “Count” pallet, the selected “Blocks” are now shown in green as shown in Figure 8 and 9.
With the doors highlighted, they can be selected and changed to the correct “Layer”, either by the “Layer” dropdown or the “Properties” pallet.
Note: - The “Block” states will get added to the table when a new table is inserted into the drawing, as shown in Figure 10.
