AutoCAD LT lacks many of the tools its full product cousin has, including 3D modelling capabilities, rendering, programming and database connectivity. Nevertheless, AutoCAD LT is more than capable of producing accurate, high quality 2D drawings with attributed data and complex designs. The latest 2023 release of full AutoCAD enhanced many new features, most of which can be found in AutoCAD LT.
A list of of some of the enhancements can be found here:
One popular command which has been in full AutoCAD for many years was the Express tool ARCTEXT. This enables users to get text to flow along a curve and can be very useful in street plan and civil engineering type drawings. This function is now available in the 2023 release of AutoCAD LT, simply type in ARCTEXT on the command prompt and a dialogue display showing height and other properties. Select the curve and see the text flowing along the curve as per the image below.
AutoCAD LT also benefits from the improved control grip functionality, CUTBASE function, block renaming and other interfaces enhancements that were introduced to full AutoCAD.
