An interesting support call came in where the customer wanted to only retag a specific type of component (e.g. circuit breakers) without retagging all of the components within the project.
The 
Retag Components option doesn’t give you the ability to filter on a specific type of component such as circuit breakers
However you can Import/Export Data ribbon > Export to spreadsheet > Components
Open the resulting Excel document and sort by TAGNAME.
You can then change the tags quite easily using Excel’s automated increase/decrease numbering system
Save the excel spreadsheet and then select
Select the command Import from Spreadsheet
Obviously if you are unfamiliar with these options it is recommended to make a copy of the project prior to trying this out.
