Within AutoCAD Electrical you can create a hyperlinked multi-sheet PDF or multi-sheet DWF/DWFx. Within Vault, utilising Cadline AutoConnect, a multi-sheet PDF can be created automatically on change of state. These can be uploaded into Autodesk Construction Cloud easily either manually or automatically. The following explains how a multi-sheet PDF/DWF/DWFx file can be uploaded to the Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Method 1:
Create the multi-sheet PDF/DWF/DWFx and save the file wherever you can easily access.
Access Autodesk Construction Cloud with your credentials.
Browse to the PDF/DWF/DWFx file created.
Drag and drop your file into ACC.
Method 2:
Ensure that you have Autodesk Desktop Connector installed.
You will then have access to the Autodesk Desktop Connector from within File Explorer.
Create the multi-sheet PDF/DWF/DWFx and save the file into the required location within Autodesk Docs.
Method 3:
If utilising Autodesk Vault with the Cadline AutoConnect software, you only have to set the configuration up and no user input would be required per job.
Within AutoConnect Administration within Autodesk Vault, a Lifecycle Configuration should be created to create a multi-sheet PDF on the change of state. This means that a multi-sheet PDF is automatically created in the background to either the project folder or designated folder on release, for example:
Within Autodesk Vault > Tools > Administration > Vault Settings > Collaborate >
A Vault directory or multiple are mapped to Autodesk Docs:
The PDF would either be saved in the specific Vault folder structure for the project or a designated project so it would enforce standardisation of where the files are saved, in addition to ensuring files are saved to ACC. The automatically published PDF would not be hyperlinked.
Method 4:
If utilising Autodesk Vault software, you only have to set the configuration up and some input would be required per job.
Within Autodesk Vault > Tools > Administration > Vault Settings > Collaborate >
A Vault directory or multiple are mapped to Autodesk Docs:
Create the multi-sheet PDF/DWF/DWFx and save the file wherever you can easily access.
Within Autodesk Vault, browse to the folder you wish to upload the PDF/DWF/DWFx to. This folder must be synchronised within the collaboration settings detailed above.
Select and browse to the saved PDF/DWF/DWFx and upload the file.
Conclusion
If you are wanting no potential errors where no human input is required, then method 3 would be the choice. The file however won’t be hyperlinked. If you are not working, or you are working with Vault, but don’t have AutoConnect and require a hyperlinked multi-sheet output, then Option 1 or 2 are probably the easiest methods but because human input is required in producing the output, there are potential errors.
