In the video below, I show how to reverse engineer a window key, using the "Canvas" tool in Fusion 360. In this example, I build a replica key on a 3D printer. But this type of component could be made using any other manufacturing process, like laser/waterjet cutting, or even CNC machining.
I chose to use the key to my kitchen window, to test if I could reproduce a working replica. This is such a simple technique to gain really accurate results and so easy to dol. Watch the video below and see what you think.
