Nearly all‐large companies sub-contract out aspects of their design process and to ensure that standardisation criteria are met, certain criteria are applied to the sub-contractors such as the necessity for all drawings to be produced in an AutoCAD (DWG) format. This ensures that all works carried out by the various sub-contractors are compatible with one another. However, it does not ensure that your companies working practices are abided by.
